Mixology - iPhone Wallpaper Illustrations

Technology and digital media have become essential to contemporary society. The goal of this design was to create a theme of iPhone wallpapers. An important process of this design was color theory. Each wallpaper has a combination of pure color, shades, tints, tones, and black and white, which I developed using the Birren Color theory. All designs were originally hand sketched and then recreated using Adobe Illustrator. After creating the designs, they were presented in an advertising format. A nightlife setting best reflected the pops of color of the Mixology wallpapers.

Process

I find it easier to draw by hand first than computer because I can find a sense of composition on a piece of paper. I tried to use the rule of thirds to make the individual artworks. I also incorporated the idea of using different drinking glasses to create differences between each artwork. Finally I added transparencies to create depth with visual layers.
