Submerge - Package Design and Campaign

After learning children ages one to four are the most likely age group to drown, I felt the need to spread this information to a wider audience by raising awareness and preventative measures. This user-centered design campaign focuses on unintentional drowning deaths in the United States. My end result is a conceptual water bottle brand, Submerge. The company’s water bottles have a user-centered interactive packaging design showing viewers drowning facts by age groups and preventative measures. Each bottle sold would give a percentage of its profits to help adults and children learn how to swim. To promote the new water bottle brand, a promotional poster and magazine page layouts were made.

Campaign Promotional Applications

To promote the Submerge brand further, I created a large poster about the brand and their campaign for raising awareness on unintentional drowning deaths.

To reach a broader audience and expand the awareness of the new Submerge brand, I created four-page layouts for magazines. Each design is different, which a different age group and factual information within the content.

Photography Process

I chose a style technique that I have seen a couple other artists do,
which I think looks beautiful, so I decided to try it myself. I bought
acrylic paint and a fish tank. I experimented with mixing different paint
colors. My assistant poured the paint into the tank of water while I
photographed the effects. Each time the tank needed to be cleaned
and refilled with fresh water. Even though the process was tedious, I
think the effects were well worth it. I chose a photograph I took to
center my package design around.
