Design adjacent joys
Outside of design, I’m usually listening to lofi or fantasy-inspired playlists, rewatching favorites from Studio Ghibli, quoting Pirates of the Caribbean at completely inappropriate times, or getting way too emotionally invested in shows like Arcane, O Brother, Where Art Thou?, and Delicious in Dungeon. I spend a lot of my free time crafting with polymer clay to make cute jewelry and tiny trinkets, playing games like Overwatch and Baldur's Gate 3 with friends, building Dungeons & Dragons characters and campaigns, or convincing myself that carrying a weighted backpack while wandering hiking trails or parks is a perfectly reasonable hobby (rucking people get it).
I’m also a huge fan of ramen, matcha tea, houseplants, and a mix of creative and community-focused work that keeps me inspired day to day. A lot of the work and communities I care about are rooted in accessibility, inclusivity, and public good, and I’m passionate about supporting LGBTQ+ rights, trans rights, racial justice, environmental protections, and free community “third spaces” that help people feel connected and welcome.
My personality type is INFJ (if you’re into that sort of thing), and I tend to channel that into design work that prioritizes meaning, clarity, and people-first storytelling—especially when it comes to building things that support and reflect the communities I care about.
Acknowledgement of Country
I acknowledge that I live and work on the ancestral homelands of the Potawatomi people and other Indigenous nations of this region, including the lands around present-day St. Joseph, Indiana. I recognize the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians as the present-day caretakers and continuing community connected to these lands.
I pay my respect to Elders past, present, and emerging, and honor the enduring cultures, histories, and knowledge systems of the Potawatomi people. I acknowledge their continued connection to this land, its waters, and all living beings, and the ways their storytelling, traditions, and stewardship continue to shape this place today.
