Villa Macri, an Italian restaurant located in Granger, Indiana, commissioned me to design a label for their limited-edition bourbon release. The goal of the project was to create packaging that reflected the restaurant’s Italian identity while giving the product a bold and memorable visual presence.
The final design combines classic Italian-inspired imagery with subtle mafia film influences to create a vintage, atmospheric aesthetic. We chose to print the artwork on a transparent label with no solid background, allowing the bottle’s gradient transition from black glass to the bourbon itself to remain visible and become part of the overall design. This approach also enhanced several transparent elements incorporated throughout the label artwork.
