This project involved creating a thematic word book based on a selected subject, with options including a fruit, animal, city, or typeface. I chose the kraken, also known as a giant squid, as the focus of my concept. The book was limited to four sentences, designed to express the subject through concise poetic writing paired with illustrative elements.
The final piece is an accordion-style book that unfolds vertically, creating a continuous illustrated narrative. This format was intentionally designed to function across both print and digital platforms. A watercolor-inspired illustration style was used throughout to enhance the mood and atmosphere of the story. The combination of poetic text and imagery reveals the fate of sailors within the narrative.
